Almost Ready to Cook!

I'm getting close to finishing the galley.

Installed the shelves, trimmed out most everything. Still have some painting to do, staining to do, a couple more pieces to place, install the foot pump, hot and cold water faucet, (though pressure water is still a little ways off), and connect the new drain.

I've decided that instead of the stove sitting on a cutting board, I will place the cutting board above the stove on a custom bracket.

For the most part, it's turning out nice.

More Galley Work...

Not too much to say about the continuing galley work. The pics say most of it...

One thing worth noting, the stove will sit on an oak cutting board that will slide out revealing a storage bin beneath the stove that will contain various pots and pans. Cool, huh?

More Galley Refit...

Tonight I continued with the galley refit.

Because I have a CookMate double burner non-pressurized portable stove, I am customizing the galley to accommodate it rather than a full size marine stove with oven.

Of course, I thought I would be finished by now, but I keep forgetting that every project on a boat takes three times longer than expected and cost twice as much as planned. (I think that is an ancient maritime law or something).

Anyway, it's coming along nicely and I should be finished with it... when I'm finished with it.
